Her Journey
The Founder
KausmediTech was founded by Theresa Kim, a Korean-Australian entrepreneur with deep roots in both the Korean and Australian beauty industries - and a rare, lived understanding of how innovation truly moves from one market to another.
Theresa first moved to Australia with her family at the age of 14. At the time, Korean beauty was something she experienced privately - shaped by a mother who valued skincare, self-care, and appearance - but it wasn’t until she returned to Korea for university that she truly understood the depth and intensity of Korean beauty culture.
In Korea, beauty wasn’t just about trends. It was embedded in daily life, driven by relentless innovation, competition, and a deep cultural commitment to results. Clinics adopted new technologies quickly. Brands evolved constantly. Staying still simply wasn’t an option.
That experience left a lasting impression.
Inside the Rise of K-Beauty
A Front-Row Seat to the Rise of K-Beauty
Around the time Theresa married her husband, he entered the Korean beauty industry - long before K-beauty became the global phenomenon it is today. At that time, Korean consumers believed overseas brands were more advanced, so he began importing American and European skincare and makeup brands for Korean TV shopping platforms.
What followed was a period of explosive growth. TV shopping expanded rapidly, sales broke records, and Korean brands began developing exclusive products designed specifically to outperform in an intensely competitive market. Looking back, this era marked the early foundations of what the world now recognises as K-beauty - an industry defined by speed, innovation, and an uncompromising focus on results.
Theresa witnessed this evolution firsthand. She saw how Korean brands didn’t just respond to trends - they created them.

Scaling Success
Bridging Korea and Australia
Years later, an opportunity arose for Theresa and her husband to become the Australian distributor for Bomtech, a Korean manufacturer specialising in professional aesthetic devices. By that point, they were already spending significant time in Australia and looking to expand their business here.
That decision marked the beginning of KausmediTech.
Theresa quickly recognised a gap in the Australian market. While skincare and consumables were plentiful, professional devices were either prohibitively expensive or compromised on performance and safety. European equipment delivered quality but often came with price tags that placed enormous financial pressure on clinics. More affordable alternatives, on the other hand, frequently failed to deliver consistent results.
KausmediTech was created to change that.
True Innovation
Beyond the K-Beauty Hype
As K-beauty gained global attention, Theresa watched with pride - but also caution.
“There’s a lot of excitement around K-beauty now, and that’s wonderful,”
she says. “But not everything labelled ‘K-beauty’ reflects true Korean innovation.”
Having lived and worked within the Korean industry, Theresa has a trained eye for substance over surface. She understands when long-standing technology is simply being repackaged as something new, and when genuine innovation is taking place. Her fluency in Korean allows her to have direct, transparent conversations with manufacturers - asking the right questions, verifying claims, and accessing technology at its source.
For Theresa, representing K-beauty in Australia comes with responsibility. Every product KausmediTech distributes must meet a personal standard: authentic Korean engineering, superior quality to what’s already available locally, and genuine value for clinics.
Strategic Choice
Why Devices - and Only Devices
Theresa made a deliberate decision for KausmediTech to focus exclusively on devices.
“Technology moves fast,” she explains. “If you’re not fully focused, you fall behind.”
Rather than splitting attention across skincare, consumables, and trends, KausmediTech remains device-first - ensuring every solution offered is reliable, clinically sound, and commercially viable. The goal isn’t just to deliver strong treatment outcomes, but to provide business solutions that support clinic sustainability.
Theresa has seen too many clinic owners invest in high-end equipment, only to struggle under unrealistic pricing models, high consumable costs, and long repayment periods. In some cases, devices are outdated before they’re even paid off.
KausmediTech exists to remove that pressure - offering technology that works not just in the treatment room, but on the balance sheet.
Empowering Clinics
Supporting Real Clinics, in Real Time
What drives Theresa most is helping Australian clinics remain competitive in a world where clients are more informed than ever.
Social media now exposes consumers to the latest treatments and technologies the moment they emerge - often overseas. Theresa believes Australian clinics shouldn’t be left playing catch-up.
By bringing cost-effective, Korean-engineered technology to Australia in real time, KausmediTech allows clinics to meet rising expectations locally - delivering world-class results without unnecessary complexity or financial strain.
For Theresa, this work is deeply personal. It allows her to honour her Korean heritage while contributing meaningfully to the Australian professional beauty industry - connecting two markets in a way that benefits therapists, clinic owners, and clients alike.

Strategic Partnerships
Collaboration as a Growth Strategy
Partnership sits at the heart of KausmediTech’s growth.
Theresa has built strong relationships with industry educators, professional trainers, skincare brands, and distributors across Australia. These partnerships ensure clinics receive not only high-quality devices, but also education and support that goes beyond the basics.
By working alongside educators, KausmediTech connects clinics with in-depth, device-specific training. Through partnerships with skincare brands and wholesalers, clinics can access technology that aligns with the quality of the products they already trust - often through suppliers they already work with.
For Theresa, collaboration isn’t about exclusivity. It’s about making success easier for clinics.
Future Vision
Looking Ahead
Theresa’s vision for KausmediTech is clear:
to become Australia’s most trusted source of Korean-engineered professional beauty technology.
As technology continues to shape the future of the industry, Theresa believes clarity and guidance will become just as important as innovation itself. Not all devices deliver equal value - and choosing the right technology shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
KausmediTech exists to simplify that process - helping clinics confidently adopt the right tools, implement them effectively, and future-proof their businesses with technology that delivers on every level.
